Wedding & Event Questions
I provide live caricature entertainment across Newcastle upon Tyne and the UK for weddings, parties, and corporate events.
Is caricature entertainment suitable for all weddings?
Yes, I’ve worked at all sorts of weddings, from large Indian weddings with 300+ guests to smaller, more intimate celebrations with 15 people. I’ve worked at relaxed countryside venues drawing outdoors, right through to lively evening discos. What I’ve found is simple — if your guests are up for a laugh, they’ll enjoy it.

What times work best during a wedding?
All weddings have natural lulls, and these are the perfect moments to introduce live entertainment. Caricatures are perfect for:
-
Drinks receptions
-
During meals
-
After-meal lulls
-
Evening entertainment
These are the key moments where guests need something engaging to keep your guests entertained.
I also do a full day package to provide entertainment across the key parts of the day, read more on my blog
Will all my guests get drawn?
Not everyone will get a caricature drawn at larger weddings, but I aim to include as many guests as possible. The entertainment is just as much about the experience as it is the finished drawings.
Who will you draw?
I naturally pick guests who will enjoy the experience, but I always prioritise key people like family and close friends if you point them out.
Will you draw the Bride and Groom
I always draw the bride and groom, when I first started out i was forever hearing "we hired a caricaturist for our wedding but we didn't get one" in the decade or so of working weddings i have made it a priority to draw the wedding couple. If I cant draw you live because your time table wont allow i will draw you from a photo.
When should we book?
I take bookings up to 2 years in advance, especially for peak wedding season in Newcastle and the North East. If your date is a weekend or summer wedding, it’s best to book early.

The Caricature Experiance
What is a caricaturist?
A caricaturist is a live artist who creates quick, humorous drawings that capture a person’s personality in an exaggerated way. It’s a form of live entertainment that works brilliantly at weddings, corporate events, and parties.
I work as a mix-and-mingle caricaturist, which means I don’t sit behind an easel I move around your event, drawing guests and entertaining as I go. This keeps the experience interactive and part of the atmosphere rather than separate from it.
What is the difference between a live illustrator and a caricaturist?
Live illustration has become popular in recent years usually works from photographs and focuses on creating a detailed final image.
A caricaturist is part of the event, interacting with guests, creating laughs, and adding to the atmosphere through live caricature entertainment and creating a buzz through interaction.

What is the difference between a mix-and-mingle caricaturist and a traditional caricaturist?
A traditional caricaturist works from a fixed position, with guests coming to them and sometimes queuing, works really well for a trade stand where you want your guests to come to one place.
A mix-and-mingle caricaturist moves around the room, bringing the entertainment directly to guests. This approach works particularly well at weddings and corporate events, keeping things natural, avoiding queues, and creating a more engaging experience.
How long does it take to draw a caricature?
I draw fast, high-quality caricatures in around 2–3 minutes per person, allowing plenty of guests to take part during your event. I am one of the fastest caricature artists in the U.K
Speed is one of my trademarks, and it’s what allows the entertainment to flow smoothly, especially at busy weddings and corporate events.
Will my guests have to queue?
No, I move around your event, so there’s no need for guests to wait in line. This mix-and-mingle style keeps the experience relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.
How many people will you draw?
I draw around 15/16 people per hour, depending on the flow of your event and how guests are interacting.
Do you need space to set up?
Very little. I only need a small space to leave materials, as I work around the room and bring the entertainment directly to your guests.
Will you draw groups?
I usually draw individuals to keep the pace high and the entertainment flowing, but I can draw couples or small groups if requested, it depends on the event,
Do people ever get offended?
Very rarely! The caricature style is light-hearted, fun, and designed to get laughs. Most reactions are positive, with guests enjoying both the drawings and the experience.

How do caricature artists work at corporate events?
I move around the venue drawing quick caricatures, engaging guests, and creating an interactive experience.
What makes a good caricature artist for corporate events?

Can you include branding or logos on the drawings?
