I was back at The Gate in Newcastle for the first time in a few years on a Friday night, and honestly, it was just as busy as ever. The place was absolutely buzzing.

Up on the first floor was the grand opening of the new Bally’s Casino, and they’d really gone all out. There were live musicians playing, flamenco dancers moving through the crowd serving drinks, and a real sense of energy from the moment you walked in.

And of course, they had me there as a Newcastle caricaturist, providing live caricature entertainment for the guests.

Throughout the night, I was moving around the venue drawing quick-fire caricatures, keeping people entertained, getting plenty of laughs, and helping create a real buzz on the floor.
