Wylam Brewery Wedding in Newcastle – Sarah & Matthew’s Day with Live Caricature Entertainment

Sarah and Matthew’s wedding at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle was one of those days that just clicked from start to finish. Great couple, brilliant guests, and one of the most unique wedding venues in the North East.
If you’re planning a Wylam Brewery wedding, this is exactly why it works so well.

Wylam Brewery – A Unique Newcastle Wedding Venue
Wylam Brewery is tucked away in Exhibition Park, right near Jesmond and just minutes from Newcastle city centre. It’s set inside the historic Palace of Arts — a Grade II listed building and the last remaining structure from the 1929 North East Exhibition — now transformed into a working brewery and events space.
What makes it stand out as a wedding venue is the atmosphere. It’s got that industrial-chic look — high vaulted ceilings, huge windows, and loads of character — but still feels warm and welcoming.
It’s also a fully functioning brewery, producing its own craft beer on-site, which always goes down well with guests and adds to the overall experience.

Wedding Entertainment – Caricatures at Wylam Brewery
I was there providing live caricature entertainment during the after-meal lull — that bit between the wedding breakfast and the evening party.
It’s always an important moment in the day. Guests are full, the energy dips slightly, and it can go a bit quiet if nothing’s happening.
Not at this wedding.
I was busy the whole time, drawing loads of guests while others gathered around watching, laughing, and pulling their friends in to get involved. It quickly became a real focal point in the room — exactly what you want at that stage of the day.
Caricature entertainment works especially well at venues like Wylam Brewery because there’s space for people to gather, watch, and interact. It becomes part entertainment, part keepsake — and something guests are still talking about later in the evening.
A Brilliant Atmosphere All Day
Sarah and Matthew’s guests really made the day. The atmosphere was lively from the start, and the speeches were a real highlight — a great mix of funny and heartfelt.
Those are the weddings that stand out: when the whole room is engaged and enjoying every moment.
