March Update!

What a month… I’ve met some incredible people, covered some serious miles, and had the privilege of providing live caricature entertainment across the North East and beyond.

It started off a little slow — I think a lot of people are still cautious with the economy — but by the end of the month, bookings really picked up. I’m now seeing strong demand not just for this year, but also for 2027 and 2028 weddings and events, which are already starting to fill up.

So first of all — a huge thank you to everyone who has booked me as their wedding caricaturist in the North East or for their event entertainment. It genuinely means a lot.

Wedding Caricaturist North East – March Weddings Highlights

March was packed with weddings, with around 8–9 bookings across the North East and Yorkshire.

As a live wedding caricaturist, I travelled to some fantastic venues including:

  • Croft Hotel

  • Runa Farm

  • Horton Grange

  • Dalton Pump House (twice!)

  • The Parlour at Blagdon

  • Healey Barn (full-day wedding)

  • Sheffield (wedding booking)

One of the standout events was a full-day wedding at Healey Barn. These are always a highlight for me. Being there from earlier in the day allows me to fully immerse myself in the atmosphere, build rapport with guests, and create more personalised caricatures throughout the event.

Every wedding is different, and that’s exactly why I love working as a wedding entertainer in the North East — no two crowds, venues, or moments are ever the same.

Corporate Event Entertainment – Stadium of Light & Sheffield

Alongside weddings, I also worked several corporate events providing live caricature entertainment.

I was invited to the Stadium of Light for a Health & Safety awards evening with Sunderland Council. It was a brilliant group — lots of HR professionals, which of course led to plenty of playful caricatures (devil horns included!).and even spent time with host and raconteur Alfie Joey, which added a great energy to the night.

I also travelled to Sheffield for a corporate event with a team of solicitors, who put on a fantastic evening. Corporate events like these are a great example of how caricature artists can bring energy, interaction, and a unique talking point to professional settings.

If you’re looking for corporate event entertainment in the UK, caricature is always a great way to engage guests and create something memorable.

Live Event Entertainment – Charity, Community & Special Events

March also included a range of private events, charity work, and community bookings.

I spent time at a community event in North Shields, working with older members of the community. That was a real highlight — hearing personal stories, local history, and connecting through art in a relaxed setting.

I also worked a charity night at Beamish Hall with Poppy’s Light Foundation, helping raise a significant amount of money for a fantastic cause. Events like this are always incredibly rewarding to be part of.

Another standout was Bally’s Casino opening night, which had an amazing atmosphere. I was invited to entertain guests throughout the evening.

Behind the Scenes – Life as a Caricature Artist

Being a professional caricaturist in the North East isn’t just about the events themselves — there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.

March involved:

  • Hundreds of miles of travel

  • Dozens of caricatures drawn

  • Long days and late nights

But also:

  • Plenty of laughs

  • Brilliant conversations

  • And some genuinely unforgettable moments

One wedding speech at Healey Barn had me completely in stitches — those are the moments you can’t plan, but they make the job what it is.

It was also great to catch up with other suppliers — Two Tone, Chrissy and Nigel, Ross, and others. Working alongside experienced, friendly suppliers always makes events run smoothly and adds to the overall experience.

Care Home & Community Work – Collingwood Care Home

One of the more meaningful parts of this month was spending time at Collingwood Care Home, working alongside residents and creating caricatures in a much more relaxed, personal setting.

It was genuinely fantastic to meet people who have lived in Newcastle and North Shields for decades, hearing their stories, memories, and experiences while I was drawing them. There’s something really special about these kinds of events — it’s not just about the artwork, it’s about connection, conversation, and giving people a moment of joy.

These sessions are a great reminder that live caricature isn’t just for weddings and corporate events — it can also bring something really positive to community spaces and care environments.

Book a Wedding Caricaturist or Event Entertainer

March has been a strong reminder of how varied and rewarding this work is — from weddings and corporate events to charity functions and community days.

If you’re planning:

  • A wedding in the North East

  • A corporate event anywhere in the UK

  • A private party or special occasion

…and you’re looking for something interactive, memorable, and a bit different, live caricature entertainment is always a great choice.

📩 Feel free to get in touch to check availability — especially if you’re planning for 2026–2028, as dates are already filling up.

Looking Ahead to April

April is already shaping up to be another busy month, with more weddings, corporate bookings, and events in the diary.

Looking forward to meeting more great people, drawing more brilliant caricatures, and seeing where the road takes me next.
